Thorner Good Causes Fund: Turning Broadband into Community Support

A new community initiative is helping to support local organisations in Thorner while bringing residents access to reliable full fibre broadband.

The Thorner Good Causes Fund was created following conversations with community groups across Thorner and Scarcroft. It quickly became clear that there are dozens of organisations doing fantastic work locally, with many residents volunteering and supporting multiple groups at the same time.

Rather than creating separate fundraising schemes for individual organisations, the decision was made to establish a single community fund that benefits the village as a whole.

The fund operates as a community-wide "super affiliate". Every qualifying broadband sale made using the community referral code, NCA-NDM, contributes directly to the fund, with the money raised shared between local organisations helping to make a difference across the community.

The first organisations selected to benefit from the fund are Thorner Primary School, Thorner Heritage Group, Thorner Bowling Club, Thorner Parish Centre and Thorner Over 60's Club, each playing an important role in village life and helping bring people together.

For residents, the initiative provides an opportunity to support local good causes simply by choosing a broadband provider that is already serving the village.
