Voneus joins the fun at Hovingham All Saints Bingo Night

There was plenty of fun, laughter and community spirit in Hovingham as Voneus proudly sponsored the Hovingham All Saints Bingo Night, helping to raise much-needed funds for the village church.

The evening brought local residents together for a fantastic night, with Anne Peters, Voneus Regional Commercial Manager for York North, joined by Derry and Alfie from our Field Sales team to take part in the fun and meet people from Hovingham and the surrounding villages.

And the team didn’t leave empty-handed either. There were some winnings along the way, although Alfie generously donated his prize straight back to the cause.

Supporting the Hovingham community

For Voneus, bringing full fibre broadband to rural communities is about more than providing better connectivity. It is also about getting involved in the villages Voneus serves, meeting local residents and supporting the clubs, organisations and community spaces that help bring people together.

Events like the Hovingham All Saints Bingo Night are a great example of the community spirit that makes villages such as Hovingham special.

“It was such a brilliant evening and we were made to feel incredibly welcome. Getting out into the communities I work with and meeting local residents is one of the parts of my role I enjoy most.

“It’s not just about talking about the benefits that full fibre broadband can bring. It’s about getting involved, supporting local events and understanding what matters to the people who live there.

“There was such a lovely atmosphere on the night, and I’m really proud that Voneus was able to play a small part in supporting it.”

More than broadband

Voneus specialises in bringing better broadband connectivity to rural and hard-to-reach communities, including villages where residents may previously have had limited options for fast and reliable broadband.

But becoming part of a community means more than building a broadband network.

Supporting initiatives such as the Hovingham All Saints Bingo Night gives the local Voneus team an opportunity to spend time with residents away from the usual conversations about broadband, while helping local organisations and causes that are important to village life.
