Bringing Gigabit Speeds to Rural Carmarthenshire 

St. Clears is the latest rural location to benefit from Voneus’ gigabit-capable wireless broadband. In only 90 days, from first build to final connection, we delivered full gigabit speeds to residents and businesses in the area. 

Working with Cambian Networks, our infrastructure partner, we overcame the typical challenges of remote connectivity, proving that reliable, ultrafast broadband isn’t limited to cities and large towns. 

Partnership with Carmarthenshire County Council 

This rapid deployment was only possible thanks to our close collaboration with Carmarthenshire County Council. Their support was instrumental from start to finish and the Council’s broadband engagement lead played a vital role in helping us navigate local processes and ensure a smooth, efficient rollout. 

Their proactive approach and drive for securing connectivity for local people, resulted in a strong and effective partnership and an example of how local authorities can drive digital transformation by embracing innovative connectivity solutions. 

Transforming Lives and Local Institutions 

Gigabit broadband isn't just about faster speeds, it's about unlocking potential and supporting rural livelihoods. 

Local B&B owner and councillor Phillip Hughes was among the first to benefit. His business now offers guests high-speed, seamless connectivity, an essential feature in today’s travel experience and a competitive advantage in a digital-first tourism market. 

Meanwhile, Gwyndaf Williams, who helps run St. Clears Rugby Club, welcomed the installation of a free Voneus broadband connection at the club that helps keep this vital community space digitally connected and future-ready. 

And for early customer Neil, the impact has been immediate and life-changing. From downloading games to streaming content without interruptions, he’s seen a dramatic difference in his online experience. Proof of what’s possible when gigabit broadband reaches the countryside.
